The project was the first concerted public access scheme in New Delhi, integrating the metro rail service,with bus service and existing transportation infrastructure. Being a Heritage Site (Lutyens Delhi) strictUrban Design Standards and Design codes had to be adhered to, to deliver a public realm strategy,compatible with existing historic structures. Maunsell was awarded Contract MC1A, which included thedevelopment of 4 Metro Rail Stations. Responsibilities included analysis of traffic flows and relocation oftraffic/ pedestrian movements, creating a continuous network of transport links, bus layovers, allocationof parking lots and the design coordination and sheet production for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.Responsible for design detailing of Internal Elevations and planning and detailing of Vertical Circulationfor all 4 stations.
